An investment fund buys Venturi Racing

The Monegasque team of Formula E Venturi Racing changes sides. This Wednesday, the Ecurie du Rocher formalized its takeover by an American investment fund led by Scott Swid and José Maria Aznar Botella, brother-in-law of Alejandro Agag, one of the founders of the discipline.

Don't worry, the name of Venturi Racing doesn't change and Susie Wolff, the boss, and Gildo Pastor, the founder, retain shares within the team.

“Initially we wanted to invest in Formula 1, recognized Scott Swid. But José (Maria Aznar Botella, his partner) believes in the potential of Formula E and introduced me to Susie (Wolff). From our first meeting, I could see the opportunity that this sport and the team represented. Investing in the team and being committed to a discipline that promotes global sustainability and electric mobility is a great opportunity ».

As for the organization of Venturi Racing, no changes to note. Susie Wolff retains her position as team manager as does the recently appointed assistant manager, Jérôme d'Ambrosio. The headquarters also does not move and remains in Monaco. This season, Norman Nato and Edoardo Mortara will represent the Monegasque team on the starting grid.
