Italian Formula E team project launched
La Formula E could it be enhanced with a 13th stable in 2021 or 2022? This is the daring bet launched by the Italian Gianfranco Pizzuto, who defines himself as “a pioneer of the electric car”.
This businessman is known to sports vehicle enthusiasts for having co-founded the supercar brand Fisker Automotive in the mid-2000s. After “dedicated the last 13 years to improving the adoption of hybrid and electric technology as sustainable mobility”, Gianfranco Pizzuto launches into motorsport.
Via a published message on his LinkedIn account, the entrepreneur officially announced the plan to found a Formula E team, with the help of Mark Lander, founder of the electric vehicle company Imecar in Turkey. « (Regarding the year of first participation), everything will depend on how quickly we raise all the funds", indicates one who describes himself as a “electric pioneer”.
The last participation of an Italian team in Formula E dates back to the inaugural season in 2014 with the former driver of Formula 1 Jarno Trulli.
