Jules Bianchi warned on Thursday afternoon. Satisfied with his pole position, the Frenchman knew that the start was important and that nothing was a foregone conclusion. Great prediction from the ART Grand Prix driver, who got off to a very bad start and was stuck in eleventh position at the first corner. Luca Filippi, who got off to a good start, managed to take the lead.
Victory is no longer on the agenda for Jules Bianchi, who is still trying to get into the points. Charles Pic, who started ninth, is clawing his way back up to fourth position.
The pit stop changes the positions, Luca Filippi loses first place, ahead of Javier Villa, while Davide Valsecchi is in third position. But things change quickly and the leader of the general classification, once again the fastest, aims for victory.
The iSport driver catches Luca Filippi for second place and quickly catches up with Javier Villa. Four laps from the finish, he took the lead and flew to a third victory in five races.
In the last kilometers, Luca Filippi manages to overtake Javier Villa for second place, while Giacomo Ricci also attempts the operation. He finally finished fourth, ahead of Charles Pic.
Davide Valsecchi, with this victory, secures the GP2 Asia Series title, with three races remaining. The iSport driver was able to display his speed, consistency and solidity in order to win the title, against many less experienced drivers.
