Van der Garde shows up at Jerez

If the first day had seen the Frenchman Jules Bianchi stand out, it was a Dutchman who set the best time in Jerez on Wednesday: Giedo Van der Garde. For this second of three days scheduled in the south of Spain, ten new drivers appeared, including seven who were new to the GP2 Series: Marcus Ericsson, Sten Pentus, Jan Charouz, Filip Salaquarda, William Bratt, Fabio Leimer and Vladimir Arabadzhiev .

Van der Garde set his best time on Wednesday morning in 1:25.291 and was ahead of Alberto Valerio (Party Poker Racing.com) and Kamui Kobayashi (Fat Burner Racing Eng.) has just returned from Suzuka, where he took part in free practice for the Japanese GP. In the afternoon, the high temperature prevented the competitors from improving the times set in the morning. It was finally Kamui Kobayashi who climbed to the top of the timesheet in a session which was not disrupted.

Thursday, the five-time World Rally Champion, Sébastien Loeb, will carry out a day of testing behind the wheel of a car of the DPR team.
