Vietoris already at the level

Christian Vietoris, last weekend, chose to come to Abu Dhabi. Rather than playing in the final of F3 Euro Series, in Hockenheim, the German driver completed the GP2 Asia Series free practice weekend on the Yas Marina circuit. And, this weekend, the DAMS pilot showed that his tests had borne fruit. After his sixth place in the first race, the German won the second event.

Third on the grid, Vietoris made the best start to overtake Oliver Turvey (iSport), on pole for this second race. Fourth after the first turn, the Briton saw his teammate, Davide Valsecchi, set off in much better fashion. Winner of the first race on Saturday and eighth on the grid on Sunday, the Italian quickly moved up to fifth position. Shortly after, Valsecchi took over Turvey and climbed to fourth place.

After a period under safety car regime, Christian Vietoris retains his first place, ahead of Alexander Red and Davide Valsecchi. The Italian managed to climb into second position at the restart. Behind, Josef Kral imitates Valsecchi and overtakes Rossi in turn. The leading trio no longer evolves: Vietoris wins ahead of Valsecchi and Kral.
