Will Power kisses!

Until then he had had to be content to only participate in snatches of the championship. Last year, he started five races and won one. But in 2010, Will Power will participate in the entire Izod IndyCar Series. And once again, it was Roger Penske who was right, the American wizard having decided to enter a third car for the former ChampCar driver, alongside the single-seaters of?Helio Castroneves and Ryan Briscoe.

Masterful during the inaugural round in Sao Paulo in special circumstances, the new resident of the Penske team did not go into detail during the second event yesterday in St Petersburg. After taking pole on Saturday, the Australian was in no way disturbed by the postponement of the race due to bad weather conditions, and went on to pick up a victory which owed nothing to chance.

Unlike the sun which was very timid, the spectacle was there in Florida, with numerous changes of leader. In the end Will Power won with an eight-tenths lead over the former Jaguar driver in F1, the British Justin Wilson, always very comfortable on this track. Sixteenth on the grid, Ryan Briscoe was the author of a fantastic comeback to finish in third place. Winner here last year, the Australian beat his teammate Helio Castroneves to the line. In fifth place, we find Dario Franchitti, also the author of a formidable comeback, having taken advantage of the long straight to overtake Tony Kanaan, Graham Rahal, Raphael Matos, Danica Patrick and Alex Tagliani in the final laps (see video summary).

In the championship, the winner of the day takes off. With a total of 103 points, he is 44 points ahead of a trio made up of Ryan Hunter Reay, Justin Wilson and reigning champion Dario Franchitti.
