Zhou wins interrupted sprint race

It's definitely not the way he dreamed it would be, but Guanyu-Zhou (UNI-Virtuosi) will be satisfied with that. The Chinese driver indeed won the first victory of his career in Formula 2, who is competing in his second season in the category.

The pilot Renault, who started on pole, only had to resist Nikita mazepin (Hitech) only for eight laps, since the race was stopped after a spectacular crash between Jack Aitken and Luca Ghiotto.

In the fight on the long left of turn 4, the Briton, on the inside, seemed to have lost the car and sent the Italian driver into the scene by being deported to the outside. The shock was brutal, particularly for Ghiotto.

Fortunately, the two men emerged unscathed and were able to leave their cars instantly, before Ghiotto's Hitech completely burst into flames. After several dozen minutes of procrastination, the race direction finally blew the whistle for the end of the game.

Starting 8th thanks to his victory in the main race the day before, the championship leader Mick Schumacher once again made the show when the lights went out, gaining four positions at the end of the straight of the second turn. Behind, a few laps later, he climbed onto the podium by overtaking Aitken.

The German therefore took the opportunity to regain his lead at the top of the ranking. Note that drivers could only be awarded half of the points normally allocated in a sprint race.
