As the official Test approaches MotoGP of Portimão, the Honda LCR has lifted the veil on the RC213V that Takaaki Nakagami will ride.

The opportunity for the only Japanese rider in the peloton to finally get on this podium in MotoGP which has been denied him since his arrival in the premier category in 2018.

In the video presentation of his new mount, Nakagami paid tribute to Daijiro Kato, his childhood idol, who died on April 6, 2003 at the Suzuka Circuit. The 250cc World Champion in 2001 gave 17 victories to the Japanese brand Honda.

Takaaki Nakagami: “My goal for 2023 is to be competitive. There is a new weekend format, with the arrival of Sprint races. It's going to be difficult and very busy, but we are ready to perform, to fight and I hope we can do everything we can to have a successful season. We are ready, and I hope we can have some great races in the future. »
