Antibes Rally – Bonato returns to the lead after SS3

En tête depuis l’ES 2, Yoann Bonato (C3 Rally2-CHL Sport Auto) profitait de l’ES 3 pour assommer ses adversaires. En effet, le quadruple Champion de France devançait Nicolas Ciamin (i20 N Rally2-Hyundai 2C Compétition) de 14,3 secondes dans la spéciale de Toudon. Les deux pilotes pointaient en tête du rally with a comfortable lead of 22,7 seconds to the advantage of Bonato.

Author of the scratch in SS 1, Quentin Giordano (Polo GTI R5-Sarrazin Motorsport) lost big in SS 3 with a puncture which cost him more than 30 seconds. The recent winner of the “Charbo” lost two places in the provisional ranking to appear in fourth place behind Cédric Robert (A110 Rally-Team Bonneton HDG). Girodano nevertheless retained the lead in the Michelin Premium Trophy.

Co-driven by Andy Malfoy, Pierre Roché (C3 Rally2-Team FJ) completed the provisional Top 5.

This start to the rally has already been trying for some crews. Indeed, Florian Bernardi (Fiesta Rally2-Sarrazin Motorsport) did not leave the starting park. Cyril Raymond (A110 Rally) and Grégory Fontalba (A110 Rally), the two strong men of the Trophy Alpine Elf Rallye, handed in their logbook in SS 2. For his part, William Wagner (Polo GTI R5-Sarrazin Motorsport) was trapped in SS 3.

On the provisional scratch podium, Cédric Robert occupied the head of the two-wheel drive classification.

In the Clio Trophy France clan, Valentin Ascenzi (Clio RS Line Rally5) was in the lead before taking the start of SS 3.

The competitors will now return to the Cagnes-sur-Mer racecourse for regrouping and then assistance before presenting themselves on the starting line of SS 4 from 15:54 p.m.
