Made up of two sections representing 18,78 km timed, this first day started with a surprise. On the slopes of the Col de l'Espigoulier, it was Stéphane Ciaramitaro who took the lead of the race with a 1″5 lead over Mathieu Arzeno who discovered theAlpine A110 and 3s1 on Nicolas Ciamin, the favorite of the event.

Lors du très rapide chrono des Bastides (7,05 km), le Niçois corrigeait le tir. S’adjugeant le meilleur temps, il revenait sur le site de Circuit Paul Ricard en leader. Derrière lui, Romain Dumas est en embuscade. Sur sa Porsche, le pistard qui a disputé peu de rally this year showed that he had lost none of his driving skills. He is only 1″2 behind the leading Fabia and that promises a great duel this Saturday.

A third man will try to get involved in this fight. The latest winner, Stéphane Ciaramitaro is only 2″3 behind Nicolas Ciamin and he will be able to rely on his knowledge of the terrain to play the leading roles. Fourth at 3 seconds, Mathieu Arzeno did not give up just like Richard Boursier (5e at 5″1) and Stéphane Lefebvre (6e at 5″4) who discovers driving the Porsche 991 GT+. Six special stages are on the program this Saturday for a total of 73,82 km timed.
