Dani Sordo has not yet participated in a single world event this year. The native of Torrelavega (39 years old) will soon discover driving a Rally1 hybrid during the 4e round of the calendar in Portugal (May 18-22). Among the most experienced on the field (177 starts in WRC since 2003), Dani will continue with Sardinia (June 01-05). The former Junior world champion (in 2005) maintains a special relationship with the Italian island on which he won 2 of his three successes at this level (2019 and 2020). By entrusting him with the wheel of the 3e car next to Thierry Neuville et Ott Tänak, Hyundai hopes to once again be able to take advantage of the good position on the road to Sordo. The challenge for the Iberian will be to get used to the i20 after only a few test kilometers. As for Portugal, there is a good chance that Oliver Solberg will be at the start in Alghero with a Hyundai i20 Rally2 in order to continue to gain experience.
