Jos Verstappen back in competition? No, the Dutchman is not going to put on the suit again and join his son Max at Red Bull in F1. The former pilot of Formula 1 will indeed get back behind a wheel but not on the circuit side except on closed roads.

Lover of rally, Jos Verstappen will be at the start of the Rallye van Haspengouw, the event which will kick off the 2022 Belgian Rally Championship on February 26. On site, the father of the recent F1 world champion will drive a Citroën C3 R5 prepared by DG Sport Competition. Belgian Kris Botson will be his co-driver during this race weekend.

« I'm looking forward to it and I've realized that I really like rallying. Especially because it's very unpredictable, savors the main interested party. I am very motivated and I have the support of a great team. I will have to find my limits with my co-driver. I want everything to be perfect, but if I embark on this adventure it's because it brings me joy."

This Rallye van Haspengouw will be Jos Verstappen's first professional experience in rallying since he was unable to participate in the Assen event last year due to the health crisis.
