The Mythical Cars Rally, an event for enthusiasts

From May 24 to 27, the Automobile Club Pavia will organize the first Mythical Cars Rally. Riding on the enthusiasm that exists around old vehicles, an event will take place in the region of the town of Varzy, located 1h30 south of Milan. It is open to Gr A cars from the early 1990s, therefore with Kit-Cars up to the WRC latest generation. While there will of course be a question of competition, everything will also be done to ensure that this event takes place in a friendly, festive atmosphere with an emphasis on local specialties.

By creating this event in Lombardy, the organizers want to revive the memory of rally Quattro Regioni. This rally, the first edition of which took place in 1971, has long featured among the rounds of the European championship. Big names like Simo Lampinen, Sandro Munari, Attilio Bettega and Miki Biasion have added it to their list of achievements. The French Bernard Darniche, Bernard Béguin and Jean-Claude Andruet also won.

Around forty crews are expected and a pilot has already confirmed his presence. Andreas Mikkelsen will indeed be there at the wheel of a Skoda Fabia S2000 with which he won two IRC titles in 2011 and 2012. “ It's always a good thing to have the opportunity to meet the fans and this weekend will be special in that regard, explains Andreas Mikkelsen. I can imagine that there will be a lot of people in the service park and I know that the event organizers have planned something very special in terms of atmosphere. We will all be able to relax a little and it will be a lot of fun. »
