Bonato makes the pass of 5 at the Heart of France

Yoann Bonato won his fourth victory this season and his fifth at Vendôme thanks to an optimum choice of tires with the surprise arrival of rain. Quentin Giordano is satisfied with second place after a very good race. Great performance from Cédric Robert who climbed to the third step of the podium with his Alpine.

Bonato makes the pass of 5 at the Heart of France

Yoann Bonato and Benjamin Boulloud (C3 Rally2-CHL Sport Auto) relied on rain at the start of the final loop of the Coeur de France. The 2 Alpes driver took advantage of the rain to catch up with Quentin Giordano (Polo GTi R5-Sarrazin Motorsport) who had opted for medium tyres.

Author of the last two scratches, Bonato went for victory in the last kilometers. This success allows him to take sole control of the Championship.

If victory held out to him, Quentin Giordano scored big points and widened the gap on Eric Camilli, forced to retire during the first stage. Giordano also took victory in the Michelin “R5” Trophy.

More and more comfortable behind the wheel of his Alpine, Julien Saunier (A110-Sébastien Loeb Racing Bardhal) won the Trophy Alpine Elf Rally and entered the Top 5 in the general classification, enough to put a smile on his face.

Réhane Gany (208 Rally4-Rossel Compétition) completed a race full of intelligence to achieve his first success in the 208 Rally Cup and at the same time won the U24 classification.

Romain di Fante (Clio RSR Rally5-Naudon) can take a breather! In addition to his third victory in the Clio Trophy France, he won the 2021 edition of the “Trophy” which allows him to take the wheel of the Clio Rally4 in 2022.

“The comeback”, this is what Florent Toeschini (Fiesta R2J-Sarrazin Motorsport) had to achieve to become French Junior Champion after his exit in the first special of the rally. Mission accomplished for the driver from the South of France who won the Coeur de France for the second year in a row. Leader throughout the rally, Terence Callea (Fiesta R2J) was unable to do anything to counter the determination of “Todesk” and climbed onto the second step of the podium ahead of Florian Bouchonneau (Fiesta R2J).
