Bruyneel in contention for title

The French Terrestrial Rally Championship will reach its epilogue this weekend on the occasion of the rally Land of Vaucluse. More than 140 crews including 8 WRC will come to battle in this 19th edition.

Leader with 80 points, Dominique Bruyneel (Subaru S5 WRC) is in an ideal position to win the title. With 17 units ahead of his direct pursuer, Paul Chieusse (Peugeot 206 WRC), Bruyneel will still have to reach the finish and score a few points. On the other hand, the battle should rage for the runners-up between Paul Chieusse and Laurent Carbonaro (Ford Focus WRC) who are only separated by a small point.

Behind, five drivers stand in five points and will try to finish the season as high as possible in the hierarchy. Thus Jérôme Jacquot, 4th, exchanges his Citroën C2R2 Max for a Peugeot 207 S2000. Cédric Beynet (Peugeot 306 S16), 5th, hopes to win another Group victory while Cédric Chérain (Subaru Impreza WRX) in 6th, intends to prove that he has his place on gravel. Finally, Cédric Tévelle (Peugeot 306 S16) will try to take advantage of the absence of Bob Colsoul to move up the rankings.
