Bruyneel, a fine champion of France

By finishing fifth in the Terre de Vaucluse rally, Belgian Dominique Bruyneel won the crown of French champion. As for Jean-Marie Cuoq, he won the event after a very good comeback during the second stage.

Bruyneel, a fine champion of France

“It's a real dream, and I don't want to wake up. And it was the rally the longest of my life,” joked Dominique Bruyneel on the final podium. Present for five years in the French championship, the Belgian driver fully deserved this crown, acquired this season at the wheel of a Subaru Impreza. WRC prepared by the team? Belgian by Bernard Munster. And he promised to return next year to defend his title, at the wheel of an even more efficient and newer WRC.

By finishing second in the event with his Ford Focus WRC, Laurent Carbonaro reached the second step of the final podium of the championship, ahead of Paul Chieusse and his 206 WRC. “But it was a really nice season, there was really exemplary fair play between the three of us, and Dominique fully deserves his title,” admitted the driver from Nice.

Finally, let’s take two hats off. First to Jean-Marie Cuoq, who really attacked very hard on Sunday, winning the four special stages on the program, and seizing first place in the penultimate stage. The second to Jérôme Jacquot, who had rented for this final round a Peugeot 207 Super 2000 at PH Sport, already assured of the title of Champion of France in the Two-Wheel Drive category.
