Carbonaro the unexpected

Uncomfortable at Terre de Provence with his Peugeot 307 WRC, Laurent Carbonaro seems to have found his feet at Terre de l'Auxerrois. Winner of the final special of the day, he finished the first stage in the lead, seven seconds ahead of Thomas Privé.

The 2008 French champion, leader after SS 2, then experienced some problems with his Mitsubishi Evo 9 (engine shutdown and faulty turbo). Grouped together in a few seconds, but quite far from the first two, Bob Colsoul (Mitsu Evo 10), Sébastien Rousseaux (Subaru Impreza Gr. N) and Philippe Gache (Mitsu Evo 9) have third place in their sights, while Bernard Munster , delayed by clutch problems, is in seventh place.

Great feat from Bryan Bouffier, 8th overall with his little C2 R2 Max. Finally, the rally is already over for Dominique Bruyneel (off the road in SS1), Paul Chieusse (clutch) and Christophe Ferrier (broken differential).
