The torrential rains which fell on the slopes of Aigoual forced the prefectural authorities of Gard to confirm the interruption of the Critérium des Cévennes. No special stage will be contested this Saturday, so the crews are heading to Montpellier for the final podium.

The general classification at the end of the three special stages contested this Friday is therefore the final result of the rally. However, with only 25% of timed events contested, the points awarded to the Championship are halved. Declared winner of this 62nd edition of the Critérium des Cévennes, Yoann Bonato will have to wait until the Rallye du Var at the end of November to win a fourth French Rally Champion title.

“The prefectural authorities of Gard having decided to keep the rally area under an orange vigilance regime, the resumption of the 62nd Critérium des Cévennes proves impossible this Saturday,” specifies the press release issued by the organization. In addition, bad weather overnight made one of the three planned special stages, SS8/12, impassable at the place called “Monteils”. The rally classification is confirmed at the end of SS3. The arrival ceremony is held in Montpellier (Parvis de la Mairie) from 15:00 p.m. The competitors of the “modern” rally will leave the St-Hippoyte du Fort park to go there from 13:45 p.m., while those of the VHC rally will leave the Ganges park from 12:45 p.m. »
