With a lead of around fifty seconds at the start of the last loop, Yoann Bonato (C3 Rally2-CHL Sport Auto) was able to drive completely free after the abandonment of William Wagner (Polo GTI R5-Sarrazin Motorsport) during the 'ultimate assistance of rally. With more than a minute in advance, Bonato cruised through the last three stages before enjoying his sixth victory at Vendôme and his third consecutive CFR success since the Rallye du Rouergue.
Victim of a broken longitudinal shaft at the start of the first stage, Quentin Giordano (Polo GTI R5-Sarrazin Motorsport) achieved an unimaginable “comeback” by finishing the rally in second place ahead of Cédric Robert (A110 Rally-Team Bonneton HDG) , already present on the Cœur de France podium last year.
Robert close to the title in 2WD
Cédric Robert moves a little closer to the title of French 2WD Champion with another victory ahead of Grégory Fontalba (A110 Rally). The latter could breathe since he became the new winner of the Trophy Alpine Elf Rally 2022.
Among the women, Sarah Rumeau (Corsa Rally4-Cilti) made a mistake in SS11. Mireille Vidueira (Fiesta Rally3) took the opportunity to take her first victory of the season in the category.
