Dany Snobeck wins the Lyon-Charbonnières

The 2008 French champion won the 63rd edition of the rally Lyon Charbonnières – Rhône, contested Friday and Saturday. But if Dany Snobeck led from start to finish this second round of the French rally championship, victory was not so easy to achieve, as the Citroën C4 driver explained as soon as he reached the finish line. WRC : " This rally almost ended in a fizzle. We were a bit lucky because at one point we had no more turbo, no more gears, no more nothing? (ES 10) Fortunately we were able to reach the service park. This was already the case yesterday (Friday. Editor’s note) but I didn?t want that to be known. It was a very difficult rally. I attacked until the last special »

His runner-up is none other than the winner of the first round of the championship, at Le Touquet, Eric Brunson (Subaru Impreza S12 B), who maintained the suspense by making up time at Snobeck during the second stage: “ At the end of the rally, we found better settings but we couldn't compete with the C4. I had mechanical problems at the start and the car was not suited to the terrain. Well, this is my second podium of the year with the victory at Le Touquet and we are tied with Dany at the top of the championship... »

One of the heroes of this Lyon-Charbo was Romain Dumas: engaged in a Porsche 997 GT, the winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2010 offered a car from the new GT+ Group its first “scratches” in the French championship. Dumas finished on the overall podium and won the Michelin Trophy ahead of Gilles Nantet (Porsche GT3 996 Cup) and Arnaud Augoyard (Renault Clio R3). Winner in the scratch last year, Cédric Robert wins the Citroën Racing Trophy DS3 R3.

Next round in Limousin, from June 2 to 5.
