Durbec wins the Rallye Terre du Haut-Var

Thibault Durbec (Citroën) continues its momentum. The 31-year-old driver, associated with Jacques-Julien Renucci, won its third event of the French Terrestrial Rally Championship in as many rounds in 2019, this Sunday, June 30 at the end of the rally Land of Haut Var.

“It’s a great victory! I had a lot of fun, it's our third success of the season, it's great, enthused the winner. Thanks to the organizer who offered us this beautiful rally, they were right to do so. The stages were magnificent. »

On board the Citroën DS3 WRC from the PH Sport team, Thibault Durbec overflowed then contained the return of Lionel and Lucie Baud (Citroën). The duo finished just 13”1 from victory. “We gave everything until the end, too bad, explained Lionel Baud. I really liked the course even if it was a little rough.

It's a shame to have missed the first stages of each day but we made good progress this weekend. We even found little things that went in the right direction, which bodes well for the future. »

Matthieu Margaillan is the first driver classified with an R5, in this case the Skoda Fabia. “It’s good even if we weren’t able to fight too much with our power problems. It was complicated but the result is good. » He is just seven tenths ahead of Thomas Baudoin (Citroën).

Delayed from the second special, Sébastien Loeb (Hyundai) a été le plus rapide avec pas moins de huit temps scratchs sur un total de 10 spéciales. Le nonuple champion du monde des rallyes (WRC) conclut l’épreuve au cinquième rang.
