Guigou with the Renault Clio R3T at Le Touquet before moving onto theAlpine A110 Rally

Manu guigou has revealed its plans for the 2020 French Rally Championship (CFR) season. The French driver will be present on all rounds, but will change during car practice.

The nine-time winner of the two-wheel drive category will start at Touquet (March 12-14) by the Renault Clio R3T. But let the fans rest assured, famous Alpine A110 Rally will arrive at Lyon-Charbonnières (April 23-25) within Team Joffroy equipped with Pirelli tires.

“I feel a touch of disappointment since our season will not really begin until Rally Lyon-Charbonnières, but I was keen to be at Le Touquet to get back into the spirit of the competition, explains Manu Guigou.

The Renault Clio R3T is a car that I know well and this commitment is an essential act of presence to launch my year on an equal footing with the competition. This campaign will be long and we will have to regularly score points since there is no joker in two-wheel drive.

After six months at the heart of its development process on different terrains, I have the chance to get behind the wheel of theAlpine A110 Rally in competition thanks to the support of my loyal partners, he continues. In the right seat, we will find Alexandre Coria.

“The objective will be to obtain a tenth title in the two-wheel drive category and I am convinced that the know-how of Romain Joffroy's men will allow me to achieve this goal. »

“We are very happy to collaborate with Manu Guigou in an adventure which promises to be full of history since my father rode with a Alpine A110 fifty-two years ago, adds Romain Joffroy, director of Team Joffroy.

We now find the brand with theAlpine A110 Rally, a car with a strong identity by being beautiful, fun, pleasant, suitable for all drivers and above all efficient. All of this motivates us even more to take on a new challenge in propulsion and we can't wait for the season to begin! »
