Jean-Baptiste Franceschi wins the Terre de Lozère rally

Shoulder to shoulder with Adrien fourmaux, also French junior champion in the past, Jean-Baptiste Franceschi showed himself the strongest on the last day to take victory in Lozère, the inaugural round of the 2020 French Terrestrial Rally Championship.

Separated from Adrien Fourmaux and his Ford Fiesta R5 MKII by 17 seconds before the last day, Jean-Baptiste Franceschi managed a good comeback on Sunday. With two special stages remaining, the Frenchman on his Citroën C9 R3 had already come back to within a second of the 5 French junior champion.

A gap that the future winner definitively erased during SS10. Thanks to an excellent final time, Franceschi finally beat his weekend rival by 2 seconds.

« We had a very big day, I’m very happy. I have no regrets, it's great to win this first victory. Now we are obliged to continue the championship! », smiled Jean-Baptiste Franceschi upon arrival.
