Jean-Jo on Peugeot 207 at Terre de Langres

No less than eight WRC are at the start of this 12th Rally Terre de Langres Haute-Marne, which starts this Saturday morning. They will all face Simon Jean-Joseph, winner of the last round in Auxerre, who this time will have a Peugeot 207 S2000. The 2C Compétition team entrusted him with a car equipped with the 2011 developments developed by Peugeot Sport.

« Our return to Auxerrois allowed us to reconnect with the competition. Our participation with Petter Solberg's Xsara WRC was, however, only a "one shot", Simon recalls. Since then, I have remained open to all opportunities that would allow me to be present at Terre de Langres. It turns out that the 2C Compétition team is led by Samuel Barraud, whom I have worked with on numerous occasions for over ten years. The team has very interesting technical, material and logistical resources. I am therefore delighted to be able to compete in this rally with them. The Peugeot 207 S2000 is a car that I know quite well, since I promoted it when I was in charge of Peugeot Sport's customer competition. I had the opportunity to take it in hand a few months ago, during a test session on asphalt. Equipped with the latest developments, it will undoubtedly be a formidable weapon that will allow us to fight at the forefront »

Despite his victory at Terre de l?Auxerrois, the double European rally champion (2004-2007) does not consider himself a favorite: “ My objective has not changed: I am here to have fun. On paper, the Super 2000s are less efficient than the WRCs. For my part, I will discover this rally and I don't really know what to expect. A place on the podium would completely delight me »

Co-leaders of the championship, Paul Chieusse (Peugeot 307 WRC) and Emmanuel Gascou (Peugeot 207 S2000) will want to decide between themselves before the summer break. Two Octavia WRCs belonging to Bernard Munster will also be there, including one for Alain Deveza. 2009 champion, Dominique Bruyneel will be at the wheel of the Subaru Impreza S12 WRC of the NCRS team.
