Kevin Abbring wins the Rallye du Var

Kevin Abbring offers a first success to the Hyundai i20 R5 in the French Championship by winning the Rally du Var, last event of the season. It is only the second foreign crew to win in this race.

After taking advantage of his opponents' mistakes to take the lead on the evening of the second stage, the Dutchman took the scratch in the first special of the last day and remained faster than his direct rival Yoann Bonato (DS 3 R5) who lost almost a minute late.

Reigning French champion Sylvain Michel (Skoda Fabia R5) completed the podium, finishing half a minute ahead of Gilles Panizzi (Peugeot 208 T16 R5)

Pierre Roché (Fabia R5) completes the top five with more than 6 minutes behind the winner. While he competed in the last stage with a broken shock absorber, he won the Michelin Trophy against Frédéric Raynal (Fiesta R5) who retired in the last special while in 9th place.

Florian Bernardi (208 T16 R5) follows in 6th position more than 7 minutes behind, ahead of Matthieu Margaillan (Fabia R5) and Nicolas Ciamin (Ford Fiesta R5). Behind Matthieu Margaillan (Fabia R5) and Nicolas Ciamin (Fiesta R5), Romain Dumas (Porsche 997 GT3 RS) took 9th position while Emmanuel Guigou (Renault Clio R3) completed the top ten.

In 208 Rally Cup, it was Efren Llarena who won by winning with just 8 seconds ahead of Jean-Baptiste Franceschi.
