Kubica impresses, Bouffier controls

Robert Kubica (Renault Clio S1600), which competes Rally du Var for the second time (in Clio R3 in 2009), unleashes the horses this Sunday, on the roads of the south of France. Despite the rainy weather and the quality of the field, the Pole was able to post two best times at the start of the day. He even took more than forty seconds from Stéphane Sarrazin (Peugeot 207 S2000), third on the provisional podium for the event.

Brice Tirabassi (Subaru Impreza) WRC) having given up, Bryan Bouffier (Peugeot 207 S2000) moved up to second place and can now confidently foresee the outcome of the event. By maintaining his position, and despite the expected victory of Cédric Robert (Peugeot 307 WRC), the Drômois will secure the title of Champion of France.

However, in SS10, the penultimate special of the weekend, Bryan Bouffier scared himself. “ It's quite a piece with mudslides. At the end, there are lots of bad ropes and stones everywhere “, he confided. From now on, it is the long Collobrières special (33,15 km) which awaits the driver from Die before a return which he hopes will be triumphant towards Sainte-Maxime.

For his part, Cédric Robert, very comfortable leader but who sees the title slipping away from him, no longer has any risks to take. “ We're going slowly. We have 2?40?? in advance. It would be stupid to send. We ride quietly », he declared after the Vidauban special.

In group R, Manu Guigou (Renault Clio R3) is still ahead Sébastien Ogier (Citroen DS3 R3).
