Alsace Vosges on the calendar

The presence of Rally Alsace-Vosges on the calendar of the French Rally Championship had been called into doubt after a meeting at the French Motor Sport Federation.

In a press release, the Association Sportive de l?Automobile Club d?Alsace et du Rhin (ASACAR) explained: “To organize a round of the French Rally Championship, the organizer must file at the latest three months before the event. , that is to say before February 19 for the Alsace-Vosges Rally, the complete file of its event to the Prefecture and the FFSA. »

However, a scheduling problem prevented ASACAR from being on time. Certain municipalities, ready to host the French Championship event, wanted to wait to know the route of the new Alsace Rally, the French round of the World Rally Championship in 2010, before giving their final agreement.

However, the International Automobile Federation will not inspect the route proposed for the WRC only “during the first half of March”, thus preventing ASACAR members from finalizing their itinerary.

ASACAR then asked the FFSA for “a sabbatical year”, or even a postponement of the test until the fall.

This Friday, February 12, one week before the deadline for submitting the file, the organization of the Alsace-Vosges Rally confirmed the presence of the event based in Epinal since 2004 on the French Championship calendar. The rally will take place on May 22 and 23, 2010 and will constitute the third round of the season.
