The Clio Trophy is exported to land in 2021

Since the resumption of the French Asphalt Rally Championship, the Clio Trophy has been full with substantial entry lists and an intense fight for victory.

Building on the renewed success of its promotional formula, Renault will double the stake from 2021 with the launch of a Land component, in addition to extending the asphalt adventure. Four events will be on the program for the competitors, the three best results being retained to constitute the ranking for the season.

The final calendar, like that of the Asphalt Trophy, will be revealed on the sidelines of the final of the French Championship at Var at the end of November, and we can already expect real complementarity between the two schedules so that the drivers can commit to both series.

“Faced with the undeniable commercial and sporting success of the Clio Rally, the renewal of the Clio Trophy France Asphalte is part of the continuity of our work within promotional formulas for many decades, while taking into account the health and economic situation with a more rational schedule of five rounds, underlines Benoît Nogier, commercial director of Renault Sport Racing.

This year, we were also able to see all the reliability and all the potential of the new Clio Rally on gravel, with unanimous and enthusiastic feedback from the drivers who took up the challenge of the French Terrestrial Rally Championship.

Faced with the increasingly growing demand from many players on this surface, we are therefore choosing to launch a second independent trophy on dirt. This should once again underline all the versatility of New Clio Rally and we expect to experience an exciting new season both on asphalt and on gravel. »
