Giordano's big blow at the Vosges-Grand Est Rally

Having had a very solid start to the season with a victory and two second places, Quentin Giordano is the favorite on roads he knows well. The Lorraine is confident with the number 1 on the doors of the Sarrazin Motorsport Polo GTi. With twelve special stages on the program including one outside the classification (the ES show de la Mauselaine, scheduled for Friday evening), the drivers do not take the time to compete in an observation round, like the first two special stages covered at more than 110 km/h average.

Two drivers stand out during the first kilometers: Quentin Giordano and Yoann Bonato. The first mentioned took advantage of ES 2 to take control of the rally while Bonato seemed satisfied with 2nd place: “ I no longer have the right to make mistakes, I can't give up. » Giordano and Bonato were separated by less than 6″ at the start of the second stage. Alas, Giordano lost precious seconds in SS 6 and saw his rival fall back to 0″1. Everything had to be done again for the Polo driver. Decidedly, fate seemed to be against Bonato who made a mistake in SS 7, “ this one is definitely my fault », recognized the four-time French champion.

Relieved of the Bonato threat, Giordano had to manage his lead, increased to a maximum of more than 40″ before moving up
