Lyon-Charbonnières definitively canceled for 2021

First postponed to an indefinite date in the face of the health restrictions in force in France, which have largely changed the face of the French Asphalt Rally Championship, with the double postponement of Touquet, then Antibes, the Rally Lyon-Charbonnières will throw in the towel in 2021.

The event, already canceled in 2021, wanted to be able to welcome the public along the roads, but the uncertainties linked to the situation, and had proposed a new one in October, which could not be validated, as explained by the ASA Rhône in a press release.

“Despite two successive cancellations which will have a lasting impact on our association, both morally and financially, it is with increased motivation that we look to the future and prepare the 2022 edition of this prestigious rally. » adds Emilie Tramont, president of ASA Rhône.

The 2021 calendar is therefore reduced to eight events, with Le Touquet due to launch the season from May 27 to 29.
