Antibes Rally canceled

This is a huge blow but predictable given the current situation. THE Rally Antibes Côte d'Azur 2020 will not take place. Swept by storm Alex last weekend, the Nice region suffered enormous damage which led to the cancellation of this 55th edition initially scheduled for October 16 to 18. “ A painful but undeniable decision! », deplore the organizers.

« We were all ready to offer a very nice edition of the Antibes Côte d'Azur Rally from October 16 to 18, 2020. Unfortunately the violent weather this weekend led us to review our copy and our priorities! », Regrets Gilbert Giraud, president of ASA Antibes, fully aware of the current situation.

The inhabitants of the region violently affected by the bad weather, the members of the organization did not wish " start the rally in these conditions ". Solidarity then became the watchword on site.

« We are very affected by the distress of residents and disfigured communities. It is unthinkable for us to launch the rally in these conditions! Out of respect for everyone, we prefer to be useful and contact the municipalities and make our field teams available to them in order to clear, tidy and clean the devastated road accesses. ».

Highly mobilized, the ASA Antibes teams “ will join the damaged municipalities to help them in the rehabilitation » the entire region affected by bad weather. They will then turn to 2021 and the next edition of the Rallye Antibes Côte d'Azur.
