Antibes Rally postponed to October

After the two postponements of Rally du Touquet, the Antibes Rally had become the opening round of the 2021 French Asphalt Rally Championship, from May 13 to 15.

But faced with the health crisis, the Alpes-Maritimes prefecture issued an unfavorable opinion for such an event, despite the professional nature of the event which should have been held behind closed doors, according to the principles laid down by the French Sports Federation. Automotive.

A new blow for the entire world of French rallies, with regional and national rallies also being largely affected by cancellations. As the organization's press release also mentions, “the progress of the Monte-Carlo Rally and numerous cycling events gave a glimpse of the end of the tunnel in this region. »

However, there is no question of cancellation yet, since the month of October 2021 is now the objective of ASA Antibes, which had already seen its event canceled last year. Le Touquet therefore temporarily recovers his place in the opening round of the season (May 27-29) … subject to validation by the competent authorities.
