These are now three tests of the French Rally Championship which are impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. After the canceled Lyon-Charbonnières, the Rally of Antibes postponed to a later date, it is the Rouergue Rally which will not be contested this summer in the South of France (July 9-11).
The organizers preferred to cancel the traditional summer round, due to uncertainty surrounding the situation linked to the spread of the virus.
“Will the authorization to organize be issued and if so under what conditions? What will be the health situation in the country? Will hospitals still be in crisis? Will we be able to move freely? What will be the availability of emergency doctors and other emergency resources essential to a rally?
Will the pilots and their partners be able to answer the call? Will the commissioners be able to make the trip? So many questions to which no one can give an answer to this day. This is why the Rally organizing committee decided to cancel the 2020 event so as not to put it in danger. » specifies the committee on Facebook.
The season could therefore resume at the Rallye du Mont-Blanc in September.
