The 2021 Rallye du Touquet postponed again

The bad news could not be avoided by the organizers of the 61st Rally du Touquet. The event traditionally serving as the opening event to the French Rally Championship was postponed again due to confinement in the Hauts-de-France region.

The 2021 edition will not take place as planned from April 8 to 10 (date already announced after a postponement), but from May 27 to 29, as indicated by the organizing committee on the Facebook page this Saturday, March 20.

“We thought we would have to wait until next week to announce the postponement date of our event. But thanks to the work carried out with the FFSA, the Ligue des Hauts-de-France and the municipality of Le Touquet, we can already provide you with the information so that you can organize yourself.

We therefore look forward to seeing you on May 27, 28 and 29 for the 61st edition! See you soon "

This news therefore makes it possible to form a new calendar for the discipline. Thus, the season must now open on the Antibes Côte d'Azur side (May 12-15). The Lyon Charbonnières has been postponed indefinitely.

It is still too early to know whether the Rallye du Touquet will be held behind closed doors, as was planned for the beginning of April, or with the many spectators usually present. The competition had already been full of entrants with a record of 41 R5 models, the return of Gilles Panizzi or François Delecour

Provisional CFR 2021 calendar:

May 12-15: Antibes Côte d’Azur

May 27-29: Touquet

June 10-12: Vosges Grand Est

July 8-10: Aveyron Rouergue Occitanie

September 2-4: Mont-Blanc Morzine

September 24-26: Heart of France

October 28-30: Critérium des Cévennes

November 25-28: Var

(Lyon Charbonnières: date to be defined)
