The return of Patrick Henry

Winner of the last edition of the rally Alsace-Vosges, Patrick Henry returns this year to his favorite event at the wheel of the Peugeot 206 WRC of the GPC team with the firm intention of remaining undefeated. Despite a dotted sporting program, the 2007 French champion has not given up on running:

“On the contrary, the desire is still very present. I've been working there for a while. With the support of local partners, I managed to find an agreement to drive in Alsace with this 206 WRC. It's not the last development I had when I was with Bozian, but the few kilometers covered on Monday in Savoie during the first run allowed me to see its potential. »

The Lure driver has accumulated significant experience behind the wheel of the WRC. However, it was not his first choice!

“At first, I was thinking more of a Super 2000 in order to discover this category. As there was no car available, I took this opportunity with Georges Guebey's 206 WRC. »

Firstly, Patrick Henry will have to find his feet. The shakedown organized on Thursday afternoon near Epinal will serve as both a test session to work on the car's settings and a warm-up session.

“I'm going to need to toughen up against drivers who ride more often than me. Then I will see depending on the circumstances. If the weather is bad and the roads are dirty and slippery, a well-run Super 2000 can aim for a good ranking. The goal is to have fun, score points for GPC and win the rally. »

Alsace-Vosges is for the moment a “one-shot”, a unique blow for Patrick Henry who does not despair of finding a budget to continue in rallying:

“Even though I prioritize my work with Transalliance, the desire to ride is always present and every opportunity is good. Even with a small C2 R2 Max! »
