Le Vendôme 80: a delicious dive back in time

For once, we will not talk about competition for the Vendôme 80, but about passion for cars and motorcycles produced in the 80s. This exceptional tourist ride, limited to 80 crews, will start from the Place Vendôme in Paris to reach Vendôme, in Loir-et-Cher.

The 80s gave birth to cars that left their mark. Let us cite in bulk the DeLorean DMC-12, Porsche 928, 944 and 959, Peugeot 205 GTI and Turbo16, Lamborghini Countach, Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z, Ford Sierra RS Cosworth, Ferrari 288 GTO, BB512i, 308 GTB, F40 or Testarossa, Mercedes 190E 2.3-16 and 500 SEC, the first BMW M3, BMW M635CSi and Alpina, Volkswagen Golf GTI and 16S, Renault 5 Maxi Turbo, Alpine GTA, Audi Quattro, Aston Martin V8 and Zagato, Jaguar would like to reunite.

For those who would like to participate in rally the Vendôme 80 but who do not own a car from this decade, we have organized several rental solutions. And in view of the program concocted, we say to ourselves that those absent will be wrong!

On Friday June 7, cars and motorcycles will be exhibited on Place Vendôme where a competition of elegance will take place from 18:00 p.m. for these witnesses to the history of automobiles and motorcycles, but also for the participants who will be encouraged to don 80s clothing and accessories.

A jury of personalities who had a major influence in the 80s (including Marc Cerrone) will judge the participants. This will be followed by a “Golden Eighties” Gala Dinner at the Ritz Paris where the fashion of the period will be highlighted and the winners of the competition of elegance rewarded.

On Saturday, the first stage will take participants from Paris to Château des Muids in Sologne for a country lunch. During the Second Empire, the Muids received visits on several occasions from Emperor Napoleon III and his wife Empress Eugénie. The second half of the day will take the Muids participants to Chenonceau.

With its five arches spanning the Cher, the one also called the “Château des Dames” is the only castle-bridge in the world! A dive into the Renaissance that will leave no one indifferent... Participants in the rally will dine at the gourmet restaurant in the castle's orangery followed by a private concert with artists such as Caroline Loeb, Jean-Pierre Mader and Joniece Jamison to punctuate the evening with the sound of the 80s.

On Sunday, participants will reach Vendôme, the jewel of the Loir valley. After entering the city through the Saint-Georges Gate, the competitors will take part in a private lunch organized in the main courtyard of the Town Hall. It is in this context that the awards ceremony will take place during an exceptional lunch.

SRO Motorsports Group and the Association for the Promotion of French Excellence will use all their experience in organizing high-end events to also ensure feedback in photos and videos – particularly via social networks – on this unique event. part of the profits of which will be donated to the Brain and Spinal Cord Institute. Will you be part of this unique event? See you from June 7 to 9!
