Lefebvre already a good leader at the Rallye du Var

The first step of Rally du Var only included three special stages, but Stéphane Lefebvre (DS 3), who found his co-pilot Gabin Moreau following their accident at the German Rally, has already signed two scratches to find himself at the head of the event with more than 17 seconds ahead of Kevin Abbring (Hyundai i20 R5). The Dutchman is in a fight with the first rally leader David Salanon (Ford Fiesta WRC) for the second step on the podium since the two drivers are separated by only 1”2.

Yoann Bonato (DS 3 R5) is also in the match, in 4th place, just over half a minute from the lead of the race, only around fifteen seconds from the provisional podium. Franck Lions (Fiesta WRC) however appears threatening by moving less than 2 seconds from 4th place. Jérémi Ancian (Fiesta R5) follows in 6th place ahead of Raphaël Astier (Fiesta WRC) and the reigning French champion Sylvain Michel (Skoda Fabia R5) who are tied. Matthieu Margaillan (Fabia R5) and Quentin Giordano (Peugeot 208 T16 R5) complete the top ten ahead of Gilles Panizzi (208 T16 R5) who is one minute behind the leader.

Frédéric Raynal (Fiesta R5), 12th in the general classification, leads the Michelin Trophy with 3 tenths ahead of Romain Dumas (Porsche 997 GT3 RS) and seven tenths over François Delecour (Ford Escort Cosworth).

The second of three stages of the Rallye du Var will be the longest day of the event with seven special stages on the program.
