Maurin returns to the French Terrestrial Rally Championship

After winning the French Aspahlte Rally Championship twice in 2013 and 2014, Julien Maurin will return to France to compete in the French Terrestrial Rally Championship at the wheel of a DS 3 WRC prepared by the 2C Compétition team. The double French champion had already competed in the season last year in a Skoda Fabia R5.

“I had a lot of fun during my participations on gravel in 2016 and I wanted to try the adventure again but with all the cards in hand to win in the general classification, explained the Savoyard who has played in WRC 2 in recent seasons. This is the case with the program put in place by the 2C Compétition team. I am happy to get back behind the wheel of a WRC, we will have the latest developments on the DS 3.”

“The 2016 double program was interesting and intense, added the Frenchman. I learned a lot but I also realized that we sometimes lacked time or perspective. It was important for me to focus on one objective in 2017. With the increased presence of official teams in WRC 2, it is not easy to fight at the front on equal terms and the category sometimes loses its reason for being. This also counted in my choice. »

Julien Maurin is also closely interested in Rallycross after carrying out a few test sessions.

“Other meetings may be added during the year. On asphalt for example or in other disciplines that I am curious to discover”, he confirmed.
