Well placed in Michelin Rally Tour in 2022, before two punctures thwart his plans, Michel Bourgeois hopes to win the prize this year. “ When we commit to something, we like to see it through to the end. If I win it it will perhaps be the only opportunity for me to ride a Rally2, you have to take advantage of it, it would make a great memory », Relates the pilot from Normandy, supported for ten years by his wife Sylvie. They started their season at the Côte Fleurie (8e of the general, 1er N4) and then head towards Dieppe (Seine-Maritime) and Vins de Chinon (Indre-et-Loire).

Faithful to the Champagne event with a dozen participations, Bourgeois (7e of the general, 1er FRallyNat, 1er N4) confirms the words of his playmates this weekend: “ It's always a pleasure to come to Épernay, even if over the years I have the impression that it's more and more difficult, whispered Michel. It's never easy, but this weekend it was particularly tricky. We made two or three small mistakes. The objective, in any case, has been achieved. It was the group victory. It's great, we're taking maximum points for the Michelin Rallye Tour, that's what we wanted. »

2 Wheel Drive Winners – Jimmy Turquin and Pamela Gaveriaux (Citroën C2)

Originally from the North, in the Fourmies region, Jimmy Turquin discovered the Épernay Vins de Champagne rally last weekend. Associated with Pamela Gaveriaux, he finished 21e overall, 7e of the FRC4 group, and achieved success in the F213 class, as at the Côte Fleurie where he began his season. “ The conditions were very complicated this weekend, says Turquin. But it allowed me to progress a lot in terms of driving. The first day, we experienced a problem with the fuel pump that we didn't have time to resolve at the assistance desk, but it was resolved. On the other hand, the 2e day, it was sport! We are happy to see the arrival. At the Routes du Nord, we are used to slippery conditions, but this was something else again. We looked for grip, because the grip changes all the time. We spun off. I thought we were going to end up in the vineyards, but we did well. Even when we thought we were calming things down, it was hot! ».
