Quentin Gilbert (Citroën C3 R5) generally dominated the first stage of the Rally du Touquet. The Vosges native took the lead from the 3rd special when Stéphane Lefebvre (VW Polo) went off the road and had to retire.
The gaps are small since William Wagner is less than 6 seconds from the lead of the race. The provisional podium is dominated by the C3 R5s, Yoann Bonato's mount running less than 8 seconds behind the leader even though he was plagued by engine power losses in the first pass.
Eric Brunson (Ford Fiesta WRC) occupies 4th position ahead of Quentin Giordano (VW Polo R5). Mathieu Arzeno (VW Polo R5) occupies 7th place behind Jean-Baptiste Franceschi (Citroën C3 R5) after suffering a puncture on SS7.
François Delecour dominates the 2WD category on his Alpine A110 Rally.
