Titled in 2017 on French roads, Yoann bonato will put his title back on the line in a little over a week at Rally du Touquet – Pas de Calais. The CHL Sport Auto driver will find a brand new Citroën DS3 R5 for the occasion, in an event where he took second place last year behind the Ford Fiesta WRC by Eric Brunson.
But the Isérois will be able to count on a new vehicle from Lyon-Charbonnières (April 20-22) with the Citroën C3 R5. A car that Bonato knows well having participated in the development in 2017, and having taken the start, as an opener, at the last Rallye du Var.
“The arrival of the C3 R5 will be a key stage of the season, we have worked a lot with Citroën Racing on its development and we arrive with full confidence, comments Bonato.
Next week, we will therefore try with Benjamin, the team and the entire range of Michelin tires – which has often made the difference in the changing conditions of the North – to achieve the best possible result given the competition announced.
It's quite incredible to see such enthusiasm for the French Championship and it can only be beneficial for everyone: the sport, the media, the public and for ourselves! »
Yoann Bonato competed in the Monte-Carlo Rally last January at the wheel of a Peugeot 208 R2.
