Rally – Team FJ launches detection program

Team FJ will reserve one of its three Skoda Fabia R5s for its new program to detect young French drivers. The Galpin family structure will enter one or more competitors in several events of the French Rally Championship with the aim of putting together a complete program in 2018. The Czech car will be entered in the Michelin Trophy.

“Our objective is to give a chance to young talents, having already proven themselves in rally, to demonstrate their potential at the wheel of the best R5 of the moment: the Skoda Fabia”, declared Jérôme Galpin, director of Team FJ.

“We have excellent cars, privileged links with Skoda Motorsport and a technical team which has proven its value on all French rallies but also on the international scene since we participate in competitions throughout Europe and the USA (with the Nascar Whelen Euro Series). We have also, through our circuit activities, created a driver career management agency. All the conditions are therefore met to help young French pilots. »

The first driver named is Vincent Dubert, winner of the Citroën Racing Trophy in 2015 and 3rd in the JWRC last year, who will be at the start of the Rally du Touquet which will launch the French Rally Championship this week.

“For me, this is the perfect opportunity to work on all the fundamentals of 4-wheel drive in this very experienced team. It’s an excellent opportunity which should allow me to build myself and gain the experience to reach the highest level”, commented Vincent Dubert.

Team FJ will notably hire Pierre Roché on another Skoda Fabia R5 with which it will be able to aim for the front positions and will soon reveal other drivers selected for its program. The Galpin family structure will receive its third Skoda Fabia R5 at the beginning of April and is already planning to acquire a 4th.
