Rally – Maurin ahead of Cuoq in Limousin

Jean-Marie Cuoq was the first to take the lead in the 48th Rally of Limousin, the first stage of which was contested in soggy conditions. At the wheel of his Citroën C4 WRC, the reigning French Gravel Rally champion took the first two stage wins to gain a ten-second lead over Julien Maurin's Fiesta WRC at the break. But the other reigning French Rally champion (asphalt this time) responded by setting the best time in the following three courses and finished the first stage with a lead of 16 seconds over his rival.
