Rally – Quentin Gilbert confirms his entry in a Skoda

Quentin Gilbert will be present in the French Rally Championship this year. The 28-year-old from Vosges will continue to drive a Skoda Fabia R5 prepared by the 2C Compétition team, now being co-driven by Valentin Salmon.

“I don't think I've ever been so excited before a season starts! comments the person concerned. I am very happy to be at the start with 2C Competition. All winter, they worked very hard so that we started this season in the best conditions. Champion of France in 2016, the team is a reference, which always thirsts for victory. I am also very motivated for this! »

“It’s also very positive to continue my career with a Skoda Fabia R5. This is the best car at the moment and I will be able to build on the experience gained last year”, added the French pilot.

Quentin Gilbert will quickly return to competition since the 2018 season will begin on the weekend of March 17 with the 58th edition of the Rally du Touquet (Pas-de-Calais) where he won in the Junior category in 2011 and second in the general classification in 2014.

“I expect a big fight, against many experienced drivers, recognizes Quentin Gilbert when talking about the season that awaits him. For my part, it's been seven months since I last rode and I expect to have to go through a small period of adaptation to adapt to a new environment. I now have enough maturity and experience to manage my races well. As our main objective is fixed on the Championship, I will above all seek to score as many points as possible in the R5 category and in the Michelin Trophy, in which I am also entered. »
