Rally – Whose turn is it at Rouergue?

The 39rd edition of Rally From Friday, Aveyron Rouergue brings together a field of identical quality to that of the first four meetings of the season, with the notable exception of Eric Brunson who did not make the trip to Aveyron. The driver of the Subaru Impreza WRC is in fact under a firm six-month license suspension, subject to the right of appeal, for an incident that occurred during the Lyon-Charbonnières rally. Brunson is accused of not having moved his car following an exit from the track and of having hindered the smooth running of the event.

However, with notably 9 WRCs, 6 S2000s, 4 GT+, 24 young guns in the Junior championship, and 24 crews entered in the Michelin Trophy, the field for this 4th meeting of the 2012 championship looks great. We will perhaps witness the first victory this season for the leader of the general classification, Jean-Marie Cuoq (Ford Focus WRC), who has accumulated four 2nd places over the first four rounds! His main challengers are to be found among Stéphane Sarrazin (Peugeot 307 WRC), Dany Snobeck (Citroën C4 WRC), Julien Maurin (Ford Fiesta WRC), Pierre Roché (Mini JCW), and even the local Jean-Michel Da Cunha (Citroën C4 WRC), always performing well on his home turf. As for the Peugeot 207 S2000s, the fight also promises between Cédric Robert, Freddy Loix, Bryan Bouffier, David Salanon, Ludovic Gal and Jean-Matthieu Leandri.

First stage Friday from 14:30 p.m. (4 SS between 16:33 p.m. and 22:19 p.m.); second stage Saturday from 10 a.m. (6 SS between 11:13 a.m. and 17:43 p.m.); third stage Sunday from 7 a.m. (4 SS between 8:33 a.m. and 12:32 p.m.).
