Confidently, the Hyundai driver continued with a new scratch in SS 5 while Yoann Bonato (C3 Rally2-CHL Sport Auto) went off the road after braking late. A second consecutive retirement after Le Touquet which allowed Ciamin to take the lead in the “Charbo”.

After a long break to resolve various problems, the drivers set off on SS 6 with cold tires... In these conditions, Quentin Giordano (Polo GTI R5-Sarrazin Motorsport) took the opportunity to take the scratch and come back to 0,8 second from Ciamin on the evening of this first stage.

Considered one of the candidates for the podium, Cédric Robert (A110 Rally-Bonneton HdG Yacco) finished the day in 3rd place, 15,9 seconds behind Ciamin after a second fastest time in SS 6.  Robert obviously occupied first place in the two-wheel drive ranking.

Affected by Bonato's exit, Hugo Margaillan (C3 Rally2-CHL Sport Auto) continued to familiarize himself with his car at a more incisive pace, while seeking to avoid mistakes. His 3rd time in SS 6 confirmed it. The Varois was at the gates of the podium a few seconds behind the driver of theAlpine.

Author of the scratch time in SS 3, Julien Saunier (A110 Rally) was cut short with the allocation of fixed time. Fifth at the end of this first stage and relieved after having found the right settings, he set the 4th fastest time on SS 6, enough to give him ideas for the second stage scheduled tomorrow morning from 9:08 a.m.

Back in the French Championship, David Salanon (Polo GTI R5) finished the day in sixth ahead of William Wagner (Polo GTI R5-Sarrazin Motorsport).

As for the winners of the Michelin Rally Tour 2021, Cédric Farlay (Clio Rally4) occupied 14th place in the FRC4 Group while Raphaël Marry (A110 Rally) was in 8th place in the R-GT.
