The fight for victory in the 68th Rally Mont-Blanc Morzine (Haute-Savoie) rages between Yoann Bonato (DS 3 R5) and Sylvain Michel (Skoda Fabia R5). Bonato finished the first stage in the lead with a lead of less than three seconds over his main rival.
The competition is left behind since Ludovic Gherardi (DS 3 WRC) completes the provisional podium 27 seconds behind the leader. Quentin Gilbert (DS 3 R5) nevertheless came back to three seconds from third position in the sixth and final special stage of the day.
Lionel Baud (Ford Fiesta WRC) completes the top five ahead of Pierre Roché (Fabia R5), leader of the Michelin Trophy who was battling with Ludovic Gal (Fabia R5) before the latter suffered a puncture on the last course of the step. Patrick Rouillard (Porsche 997 GT3 Cup) took the opportunity to move up to seventh place.
