FFSA Youth Rallies: Co-drivers, never two without three

Launched at the end of 2017 by the French Motor Sport Federation, the detection operation Rally Young FFSA Copilotes has already revealed several talented co-pilots. The four winners from the first two editions teamed up with the drivers of the FFSA Youth Rally Team and participated in the French Junior Rally Championship in their company. With convincing results recorded over the last two seasons in the Championship organized by the FFSA, the strengths and potential of the operation have been highlighted.

Building on these successful experiences, the operation is relaunching its detections in 2019. Sponsored since its launch by six-time World Rally Champion Julien Ingrassia, FFSA Copilotes Youth Rally 2019 will take place on the same locations as its version dedicated to drivers:

At the Lyon Motor Show on September 28 and 29, at the Circuit Geoparc in Saint-Dié-des-Vosges on October 12 and 13 and finally at the Circuit de Lédenon in Nîmes on November 2 and 3.

The grand final will take place over two days, November 5 and 6, in the Gard setting. It will pit the six candidates (two per selection location) who have best succeeded in the various tests concocted by the jury: Test on technical and regulatory knowledge, evaluation of note-taking, role-playing, etc.

Accessible for a participation of €10, the FFSA Copilotes Youth Rally operation is open to any co-driver of French nationality holding a B license, born after January 1, 1984 and having held an FFSA license in the past or having subscribed to an FFSA license before on September 20, 2019.

“I am delighted that the Federation is renewing Rallye Jeunes FFSA Copilotes, comments Julien Ingrassia, six-time Co-Driver World Rally Champion. Building on these two years of experience, the selection criteria will be refined and the monitoring of winners further improved.

It is a pleasure to once again engage with the FFSA to perpetuate the work carried out since 2017 and contribute to highlighting the role of co-pilot. »

“With this third vintage of the Rallye Jeunes Copilotes operation, we will continue to consolidate the pool of young French co-pilots that we have been building for two years now, specifies for his part Nicolas Bernardi, National Coach of the FFSA.

We strive at each edition to bring out the most promising talents and then support them to the highest level. This year again, the two winners will win a full season in the French Junior Rally Championship and will be followed and trained by professional co-drivers,

We are happy to be able to offer, for the third time, this fantastic opportunity to the two talents we will select. »
