A look back at the interruption of the Critérium des Cévennes

President of the Critérium des Cévennes Organizing Committee, Alain Szafarcyk returned to the interruption of the rally Friday afternoon : " We have been warned by Madam Prefect of Gard of the publication of a prefectural decree announcing the cancellation of the second loop of the first stage of the Critérium des Cévennes. We negotiated with Patrick Bouteiller, the race director, to avoid a total stoppage of the event and thus take the decision of a temporary interruption. The hope is therefore to see a lull tomorrow afternoon as some weather maps indicate in order to compete in the last loop of the rally in the afternoon. The race management also published a press release announcing to the drivers a theoretical departure on Saturday afternoon from 12:36 p.m., depending on the decisions of the prefecture and the lifting of orange vigilance in the Gard department.
