If you Rally of Catalonia marked the last outing of Sébastien Loeb en WRC this year at the end of its six-race program with Hyundai, the nine-time world rally champion will return to the i20 Coupe WRC next month (November 21-24) to the final of the French Rally Championship in Var.

The Alsatian, winner in 2000, 2009 and 2014 in the South-East of France, will strengthen a field mainly made up of R5 and where the party should be there after the coronation of Yohan Rossel last weekend at the Cevennes.

“I am always grateful for any opportunity to race in front of the French fans and give them the chance to see a WRC up close, comments Loeb. I had a great time in the Vosges at the start of the year, but the Rallye du Var will be another special event.

I have been lucky enough to achieve this victory several times. So it’s special to participate this time with the Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC. »

Loeb must return to the Korean team in 2020, on a similar program of six events as Andrea Adamo, boss of Hyundai Motorsport, confided earlier in the year. The team will compete for the Manufacturers' world title a week before the meeting in Var, on the Australian tracks.

“I had a great first season with Hyundai, recalls Loeb, 4th in Catalonia last weekend. This event will be the perfect end-of-season opportunity to celebrate and look forward to next year together. »

Daniel Elena could logically co-drive the Frenchman, but no mention of Loeb's teammate has been made by Hyundai. The brand will also return to an event that it dominated in 2016 with Kevin Abbring.
